The annual Executive MBA Council Conference
offers those who are involved with executive
education the latest in thought and practice
A Worthy Cause
Malnutrition occurs first in as many as 80 percent of AIDS deaths. With the mission statement, “No one living with AIDS should live with hunger,” A Loving Spoonful delivers 100,000 free, nutritious meals each year to men, women, and children who live with HIV and AIDS in the greater Vancouver area.
Executive MBA Council members can support the work of A Loving Spoonful, the charity recipient of the 2010 Executive MBA Council Conference, while also qualifying for a raffle drawing.
A Loving Spoonful began in 1989 when founder Easter Armas saw an acquaintance of hers, a brilliant lawyer, who lost his job because he was HIV-positive, eating from a dumpster. The non-profit organization now supplies meals and snacks, largely through the efforts of 150 volunteers, to more than 250 adults and children at an average daily cost of $3.55 for each meal.
